Easter is one of the major Christian festivals of the
year as Easter or Resurrection Sunday is the day Christians celebrate the
resurrection of Jesus the Christ from the dead. Easter occurs at a different time causing
confusion to many because the dates are connected with the moon's phases. Each year Easter Sunday is celebrated on the
first Sunday after the first full moon following the first day of spring in the
Northern Hemisphere. This means that Easter can occur on any Sunday between
March 22 and April 25.

In the UK the Friday before Easter Sunday (Good Friday) and the
Monday (except Scotland) are bank holidays.
Good Friday is the day that Christians commemorate the
crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It is a day of mourning in church and special Good
Friday services are held where Christians meditate on Jesus's suffering and
death on the cross, and what this means for their faith.
Easter Sunday is the day that Christians commemorate
the fact that Jesus Christ rose from the grave on the third day after his
crucifixion.
Easter Monday is a bank holiday in England, Wales and
Northern Ireland, but not Scotland.
Trivia - Easter Island was given the name by the Dutch
explorer Jacob Roggeveen, who found it on Easter Sunday in 1722.
